1 How To Speed Up Windows XP Start Menu

If you're not satisfied with the slight sluggishness of the ‘Start’ menu in Windows XP,here's an easy way to give it a lightening speed.
Note »This trick has to do with editing the Registry. Therefore,be careful not to do beyond what you're told.

So,for a faster response of the start menu, follow the steps below.

  1. Click on ‘Start’ » Run or just hold Window key + R
  2. Type Regedit in the textbox and hit Enter.
  3. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop and double-click on the folder desktop.
  4. Once double-clicked on,some key files will appear at the Right Panel.
Locate ‘MenuShowDelay’ and double click on it.
  5. Now,change the value in the textbox from either 400 or 200 to 0(or any digit you want) and ‘OK’ it.
  6. Note :
The lower the integer, the faster the menu responds.
That's all.
