Though this feature is added to the context menu of some browsers, it isn't in most.
So, anytime you close a valid tab unknowingly/mistakenly, all you need do is press the following keyboard shortcut
CTRL + SHIFT + TIn fact, when this shortcut is pressed again, the previously closed tab before the new one is re-opened, and so on.
This has been tested on all major browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Opera mini and it worked fine.
